Presentation by Shelly Born on Cinergy's "Engineer in the Classroom".
Shelly demonstrated how the program works to bring an Engineer into an elementary classroom.
The program covers different areas of engineering from Electrical to
Chemical to Civil and Mechanical. Shelly demonstrated the Chemical
Engineering section by having everyone at the meeting making FLUBBER!.

A. Meeting Items
- Ross Barton - Considering taking over the chair of the Computer Society.
Will make final decision at next EXCOM meeting.
- Norbert Viranyi - Norbert talked about meeting with the student
chapter of IEEE at Purdue West Lafayette that took place on 21 February 2001.
The student chapter sent a list of activities that they would like help with.
Of those activities, the EXCOM chose three to be of high importance.
- ENVISION - April 7th - at West Lafayette.
The Electronics Mobile Labatory will take part.
Ken Reid is the contact person.
- Dave Redding or Norbert Viranyi will contact Jim Rees
about student branch leadership conference.
- Meet with student chapter in September-October to discuss
preprations for National Engineer Week.
Motion by Norbert Viranyi to make the Vice Chairman responsible for Program
Committee. 2nd by Dave Redding. Approved - Unanimous. By law committee to
present updated bylaws at next EXCOM meeting.
- CIS-IEEE Website - Discussed draft of web page outsourcing agreement.
Disucssion of final draft at Next EXCOM Meeting.
- Officer Reports for 2000 - Secretary and Treasurer reports were
sent in by February 23, 2001 deadline.
- Reporter
- For April and May issues send all articles and submissions to
Bob Evanich, b.evanich@ieee.org.
Bob will produce the hard copies of the reporter.
There are currently 800 copies e-mailed and approximately
1500 hard copies mailed each month.
- We need submissions. Feel free to submit ideas, articles, notices, etc.
- Discussion of making reporter completely electronic (on line).

- Rose Hulman - No response to e-mails or phone calls.
- IUPUI - contact and set up joint EXCOM Meeting.
- Travel Policy - The Travel Policy is to be polished up and
presented for approval at next EXCOM meeting in March.
- CIS Mission Statement - The EXCOM is accepting submissions on
what the mission of the Central Indiana Sections Mission should be.
