- New Business
- A conference call was arranged by David Redding to transfer the leadership to Norbert Viranyi and acknowledge other new officer positions based on the election results. The above list indicates responsibilities of individuals for the year 2002. Niusha Rostamkolai will assume the responsibility of secretary on interim bases until this position is permanently filled. Dr. William Lin is a new member of the executive committee and he will serve as treasurer. Dr. Lin will contact Steve Clouse to obtain all treasurer's files. February 22nd is the official deadline for the treasurer and secretary report. Alan Stillerman will complete secretary's report for 2001.
- Treasurer's Report:
Norbert Viranyi asked for a treasurer's report at each CIS-IEEE Meeting. Dr. Lin agreed to prepare a treasurer's report for each upcoming meeting. Norbert also asked the committee members to provide their IEEE membership number to complete the officer confirmation form and send it to IEEE headquarters. Norbert also mentioned that the plan to have an astronaut from NASA for the February meeting did not materialize. Therefore, the PES Emergency Power Meeting will be the only meeting for February.

David Redding will try to arrange a tour of United Airlines Maintenance Facility for the week of March 18. Niusha Rostamkolai will provide the phone number of Dennis Rosebrough to Dave. Dave also mentioned that the ITECH Conference officials have contacted him and they have asked for our participation for this conference on June 5 and 6. The proposed IEEE activities are:
- Senior project presentation of students at IUPUI, Purdue and Rose-Hulman to attempt
establishing industrial contacts for the future senior projects
- Inviting a Distinguished Speaker from IEEE.

The Reporter
will be published in January, March, September and November. She has requested the following for the January Reporter:
- IEEE PES Fall Short Course Information
- Information about PES February Meeting
- PES election results for 2002.
- IEEE Application Material:
Mr. Stoner said he would ship a box of IEEE application material to Shelly for distribution to other committee members.

The next meeting of CIS-IEEE will be hosted by Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication systems on Thursday, January 17, 2002 from 6 to 8 PM.
